She must keep track of the runners as they pass a certain checkpoint on the course. There are at least 30,000 runners, so she has to develop a good strategy for counting such a large number of people. She tests out a few options, but finds that an abacus may be her best tool.

In order to save the video games of the world from being totally eliminated, Bianca must replace a crystal in the video game eliminator. To do that safely she must follow a specific number of steps and then perform the inverse of those steps.

In this *Cyberchase* video segment, Harry wants to visit his grandmother. He decides that the cheapest way for him to get there is to travel by unicycle, but he wonders if he can get there before dark. Using a line graph, he tries to predict the amount of time it will take to travel the twenty miles, assuming he travels at a constant speed. Once he sets out on his unicycle, he charts his progress on a new line graph. After the first hour he appears to be ahead of schedule, but he is not able to keep up the pace and soon finds himself falling behind.

In this video segment from *Cyberchase*, Harry and Bianca have new jobs at a movie theater concession stand. They compete with each other to see who can sell the most snacks, and they report their sales using bar graphs. When their graphs are compared, it appears that Harry has sold more, but Bianca is not so sure, so she takes a closer look at the scale of each graph.

Harry agrees to take over his brother Pete's paper route for a week. After starting the job, he realizes the route was not planned out very well. He tries to rework it by analyzing the list of addresses. After making some adjustments to his list, he is able to create a new, easier and more efficient route.

In this video segment from *Cyberchase,* Inez and Digit are attempting to gain access to a machine in order to save Sensible Flats from disaster. First, they must balance a scale to get the correct numeric access code. In order to do that they have to balance a scale using four weights on each side. They soon learn that adding or removing the same weight from each side does not upset the balance of the scale.

In this video segment from *Cyberchase*, the CyberSquad must measure two differently-shaped parcels of land to determine which has a larger area. The CyberSquad uses tarps, fence posts, and finally a grid made out of rope to count squares and determine the area of each parcel.

In this video segment from *Cyberchase,* Bianca wants to see a movie but she can’t decide which of the two movies she should see. To help her decide, she flips a coin. The coin comes up “heads” three times in a row. This surprises Bianca, so she does some research to find out the probability of landing on heads or tails when flipping a coin.
