## The Sticker Chart | Sid the Science Kid

Icon:

Using this resource group, students learn about documentation using charts. If Sid doesn't fill his chore chart with stickers, he'll never get a new Turbo-Robot-Rocketship toy. Sid wonders, who needs charts anyway? After a day of investigating, Sid learns that charts are great science tools that help compare and contrast all kinds of cool stuff like snacks, pets, and even chores! The resource group includes an English and Spanish version of five video clips, as well as the associated Science Adventures Curriculum Guide.

## The Rolie Polie | Sid the Science Kid

Icon:

Using this resource group, students learn about scientific observation using a magnifying glass. Sid loves his rolie polie bugs, but they're so little he can't figure out how they move. At school, Sid and his friends explore their world using the magnifying glass to make things look bigger, like freckles on their skin, little pebbles, and rolie polie legs! The resource group includes an English and Spanish version of 5 video clips, as well as the associated Science Adventures Curriculum Guide. Watch Sid here or go to http://www.pbslearningmedia.org/collection/sid-the-science-kid/ to download the science adventures video clips.

## Rug Time: Measurement | Sid the Science Kid

Icon:

Sid brings his ruler to Rug Time, and the class wants to know how this scientific measurement tool can be used to measure very large objects. Miss Susie explains that to measure things that are bigger than the size of a ruler, you can use tools such as a tape measure. She prompts the students to explore more in a Super Fab Lab! (Spanish version also available.)

## Super Fab Lab: Exploring Measurement | Sid the Science Kid

Icon:

Miss Susie explains that non-standard measurement can be used as a scientific tool to measure without a ruler.  Watch a live action clip of students figuring out a room's size by using themselves as measurement units.  Learn how units of measurement must be the same size when conducting non-standard measurement investigations. (Spanish version also available.)

## Backseat Driving with Grandma | Sid the Science Kid

Icon:

On his way home from school, Sid tells his Grandma how he learned all about how to measure things without rulers.  Listen as Grandma tells Sid about how her father used his hands as a unit of non-standard measurement to measure objects, too. (Spanish Version also available.)
